What can I substitute for baking powder?

Substitution for Baking Powder

Substitution for 1 teaspoon baking powder: 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar plus 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. This is single-acting baking powder, so your baked goods won't rise in the oven too as they do with purchased double-acting baking powder.
